Hello, Elders!
Today, I am very busy. I have several meetings, a lot of studying, and it’s Santiago’s birthday. So, I am writing to both of you to consolidte time.
I have been thinking about two quotes from Elder Holland this week. The first one is:
However late you think you are, however many chances you think you have missed, however many mistakes you feel you have made or talents you think you don’t have, or however far from home and family and God you feel you have traveled, I testify that you have not traveled beyond the reach of divine love. It is not possible for you to sink lower than the infinite light of Christ’s Atonement shines.
Our Heavenly Father loves us and has given us His Only Begotten Son to rescue us from the Fall. It is never too late to repent and change. In fact, every day, we must decide whether we will continue to change. It is not a decision we make just once, but rather every single day. That is why it is VERY important that we pray and ask for guidance, strength, and resistance to temptation.
The second quote is:
“God expects you to have enough faith, determination, and confidence in Him to keep moving forward, to keep living, to keep rejoicing. In fact, He expects that you will not only face the future (which sounds rather grim and stoic); He expects you to embrace and shape the future, to love it, to rejoice in it, and to delight in your opportunities.
God is anxiously waiting for the opportunity to answer your prayers and fulfill your dreams, just as He always has. But He cannot do so if you do not pray, and He cannot do so if you do not dream. In short, He cannot do so if you do not believe.”
This reminds me of 2 Nephi 2:25. The purpose of our life is to have joy. Sometimes, challenges come, but even in them, we can find joy.
I love you with all my heart. If you don’t know yet that I love you, you should know it. Both of you have a special place in my heart. May God bless you in all your righteous desires.
Your friend and brother,
Jacob
