Up until now, my religious academic studies have focused mostly on the Old Testament and the Book of Mormon. I study the New Testament but up until this year have not spent a lot of time on it critically. I have mostly studied the theology. So I have decided that while I am waiting out visa paperwork for Spain and have some time engage in reading I will take advantage of it. This is my reading list for the next couple of months.
- Albert Schweitzer, The Quest for the Historical Jesus
- Stephen Neil and N.T. Wright, The Interpretation of the New Testament, 1861–1986
- Bruce Metzger, The Text of the New Testament
- Emil Schürer, The History of the Jewish People in the Age of Jesus Christ, Rev. and ed. by Geza Vermes and Fergus Millar
- David Friedrich Strauss, The Life of Jesus Critically Examined
- B.H. Streeter, The Four Gospels
- Rudolf Bultmann, History of the Synoptic Tradition
- E. P. Sanders, Jesus and Judaism
